Do I make this a short story, or should I write this as a travel article, to the western isles, it started off as bit of banter, ... I mean can expand on it loads.. your thoughts please Sam, if you have taken the time to take a look..or am I being ignored, dearest?..


We all have a tale to tell, but what about fiction..

As she stepped from the walkway onto the harbour side a gust of wind caught the bottom of her dress, the cold air whipped around her ankles and made her shiver involuntarily, she cursed the dammed Scottish weather, why was it so cold, and why did the rain come in sideways, why did her boss always sneer like some lechorous demon every time she was eating in the crew mess.. Was she paranoid, or just cynical, she had always wanted to be a stewardess and travel the world, she´d tried the airlines, she´d applied to cruise ships, and no joy, a recruiting agency had found her this job, it was only supposed to be temporary but 2 miserable years later she could have sworn she was turning into a cynical bitch.. When did this all happen, and why did it happen to her, its not like she was short of options, she´d had the best grades on her A levels, and had been lined up for management training following months of dedicated but tedious paper pushing in the registry office of Inland Revenue, tempting as it was she just couldnt stomach counting any more brown/manilva HMSO envelopes and sending them out to the little regional offices, Middlesborough was a nice place but she wanted more, her aspirations to travel the world, re-enforced by the ever present references to the great naval explorer captain cook had been founded at an early age, but stepping off this calmac ferry in the freezing seas of scotland, this wasnt exactly the kind of life she had in mind... lol...…
